We're not your typical proprietors. We like to get our hands dirty in the vineyards and the cellar, thrive on taking risks that support what we believe in, and pride ourselves on remaining accessible to our community. Rudius has been a true partnership since the beginning — Jeff oversees every move from vine to bottle, while Britt ("the brains of the operation," as Jeff likes to say) manages everything in between. With many exciting developments on the horizon, we're thrilled to continue making and sharing exceptional wines with you for years to come.

Despite growing up in the Napa Valley, Britt never imagined working in the wine industry. Having attended Saint Mary’s College and London School of Economics, Britt had envisioned a life in the world of finance. Instead, a chance encounter with a rising star winemaker in 2008, coupled with her ability to see serious potential in an emerging brand, led her to change course. She enthusiastically took on all brand management responsibilities at Rudius that year, and has been at the helm of the company ever since. Since then Britt’s love of wine has grown and she is now intimately involved in every aspect of the business. Nowadays, instead of influencing the stock market, Britt can usually be found in her local coffee shop managing Rudius from behind her cappuccino. All of her free days are spent exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband Adam and her darling daughter, Kaley Elizabeth, or relaxing at home in Seattle.
Jeff AmesWinemaker & Co-Owner
Growing up in the South with a family of lawyers, Jeff pulled a wild card when he began working in a Memphis-based wine shop. His passion for Rhone varietals became apparent at that point, as did his desire to move forward in the industry. What allowed him to chase his dream was an internship with Lynn Penner-Ash in Oregon. After making a shift to Napa, he worked every corner of the wine industry until in 2001, he became Thomas Brown’s assistant winemaker for brands including Schrader, Tor, Maybach, and Outpost. In 2005, he sold his first home in Napa in order to attain the start-up capital needed to achieve his ultimate goal: Rudius Wines. This wine geek isn't just passionate about his morning walks in the vineyard but is also an avid golfer, a die hard Alabama football fan (ROLL TIDE!!), and knows the perfect pairing for any pork product.
David GregaAssistant Winemaker
David's past military career primed him to be a glutton for punishment. When the grueling schedule of harvest-time circles around, he's ready and raring to go. David is a Certified Sommelier as well as an expert in sensory analysis — his keen insights have been imperative to the Rudius lineup. In addition to his enthusiasm and passion for winemaking, he considers himself a men's health and style enthusiast, and has been featured on various bespoke fashion blogs. Personifying perseverance and hard work, we're thrilled to have David on-board as our first full-time team member.
