Our estate vineyard, perched at 1700 feet elevation on Howell Mountain, not only represents the best of what this appellation has to offer but also epitomizes the Rudius philosophy. Structure. Depth. Ageability. In 2015, the Estate Cabernet expresses itself with slightly more vibrancy and freshness than in the previous vintage as a result of very shy yields and early season maturity. Lush blackberry and Bing cherry are accentuated by subtle notes of mint and clove spice. This is still mountain Cabernet, but the tannin structure in 2015 is slightly more precise and exhibits a certain femininity, uncommon to the appellation yet refreshing to the palate. As always, the ‘Savory’ impresses with an incredibly long, powerful finish, proving that even in this more refined iteration, it is still an age-worthy star.
